Saiyans come from a planet that has 10x Earths gravity. They are vastly physically superior to humans in every way. Goku, when he was just a child, prior to learning on how to use ki in enhance himself from Roshi, was capable of shattering rocks with a bear hug, was bullet proof, and walked off from being sent through several thick stone pillars when Yamcha hit him with a wolf fang fist.

And that was just a child Saiyan. Just think about what an un-ki trained adult saiyan could do?

Saiyans natural physical stats are another reason they vastly outperform humans in combat. Should a human with a PL of, say;1000, fought a Saiyan who had the same PL. The fight would go down the same way a fight between one of us and an untrained Saiyan would go down; the human would have a fist through their chest before they knew what happened.

If that were true, the fight between Goku and Tenshinhan in Dragonball wouldn't have been evenly matched as they had the exact same power level. Toriyama even remarked how pleased he was by the fact that they were dead even which made for a more difficult battle.

I am immensely happy Toriyama got rid of Powr Levels because people oversimplify how they work, ignore how they work or conveniently forget when it serves their purposes.

Power Levels are like RPG levels: they are an aggregate measurement of one's stats such as strength, speed, defence, etc. So even if a person has a higher power level, they can still lose to someone with a lower power level because their stats matter. It's like a Rogue vs. a Tank--procedure matters.

Yes, Saiyans had an environmental advantage due to high gravity and can even be born with abnormally high levels. But nothing in their biology insinuates that they are resilient in a way that another being can't match.

Kid Goku's advantage was yes, he was a Saiyan and had a power level of that of a fully grown human at birth. He was trained by Gohan and got stronger. He and Yamcha were evenly matched in their first encounter--both had training that made them far beyond most adult fighters. Goku had a Saiyan advantage to compensate for his youth and his statistical edge was damage resistance. It's that simple.

Tien isn't a normal human. It's explained in the Daizenshuu that he is part alien. With his ancestors arriving to Earth long before the story. And Goku and Yamcha were anything but evenly matched. In their first fight; Goku was too hungry to even really fight. Yet after Yamcha hit him with the wolf fang fist, and sent him crashing through thick stone pillars, Goku casually just walked off from it. Not even remotely damaged, still complaining that he was hungry. In their se one fight? Goku defeated him in short order. It wasn't even a fight, and Yamcha lost a tooth for trying.

Point is; Gokus saiyan physiology always gave him the advantage. That's why he could casually shatter stone with a bear hug, push large stones, have bullets bounce off his skin, and walk off from both crashing through thick stone pillars, and the attack that sent him through it, as if nothing even happened, more concerned about his apetite.

And the one with the higher power level usually DID win. Only time they lost was
either due to a team up, a charged up attack that surpasses their power level, or both. That's basically how it always worked. Later; It Just turned into who had the higher energy level and/or a charged up energy attack of some sorts. I never saw PLs as bad tbh. But was fine when they were gone.

"Tien isn't a normal human"

OK, what's normal is a huge topic to cover. Regarding his lineage, I recommend the following thread that digs deeper into said Daizenshuu and the series as a whole. It has a lot of point/counterpoint to save us both some time. Really, Google "Daizenshuu Tenshinhan 3-eyed clan" or any variation of that to get equally good results from the Kanzenshuu forums.

If it's too long to read, here's the short short version: Toriyama never said he was an alien, the 3-eyed clan are not necessarily aliens, and the Daizenshuu are not infallible.

But furthermore, we're talking about a series where none of the humans are "normal" and the term "earthling" includes a humanoid dog for World Leader.

As for Goku's strength, nobody is denying that he was freakishly strong. The argument is whether Saiyan physical ability is attainable by non-Saiyans. Your argument is that Goku's strength comes from genetics, not ki. If that is true, then it begs the question of whether that genetic durability improves with training or, as has been shown in the series and in the pop culture it's rooted in (Journey to the West, wuxia, etc), people improve their resistance with ki. Kaio's statement about Saiyan's strength coming from gravity simply implies that they adapted to said gravity via power (what non-earthlings don't know is ki). Its the same method used by Edgar Rice Burroughs in the John Carter of Mars books (and then borrowed by Siegel and Schuster for Superman's initial, very early origins) that argued if humans went to Mars they'd be stronger due to less gravity, or, if humans had been born on Krypton, they'd be as strong as Kryptonians.

So in other words, Toriyama took a mysitical eastern approach rooted in fairy tales and wuxia fiction, and later paired it with the western premise (Burroughs, Siegel and Schuster) that physically identical beings are made stronger by their environment.

If Saiyans were simply just strong cause of genetic advantages due to race begets brother wouldn't be so weak

So if every thing is a race against time, why hasn't Yamcha and Piccolo go in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?
Gokitalo 24th Jun 2017, 4:37 PM edit delete reply
Yamcha mentioned in an earlier chapter that he felt the Hyperbolic Time Chamber could only take a person so far. Plus, you do get older each time you go in there...

Unironically they both look cool as super saiyans.

Let's be honest anyone would look as a super saiyan...unless you have no hair.
