WOW this is the first fan made DBZ comic/manga (whatever you want to call it) that references and explains things that happened in DBZ and I LOVE it. I commented it was equal to DBZ Multiverse but I was wrong. This is ALOT better I really enjoy your work! keep it up!

You asked for donations. I'd gladly help but I do not want to setup a Patreon account just to send a few bucks. Are there other options? For example a paypal account or if you're in the EU an IBAN bank address.
RMK 11th Jan 2017, 10:13 AM edit delete reply
Thank you very much for your interest in donations, but at this time, Patreon is the only available option.
Sol 12th Jan 2017, 3:26 PM edit delete reply
Speaking from personal experience, it's not a very difficult process provided you have a paypal account (what you use to set up the transfer) and a facebook account(which expedites the set up of the account).
RMK 12th Jan 2017, 4:26 PM edit delete reply
Thank you for the feedback. I really do appreciate your willingness to make a donation. I understand that it would be a fairly simple process, but at present, I am uncomfortable publicly sharing my Paypal ID. That's really what it comes down to.

Another excellent chapter, though the appearance of Abu Raka and Zam have made wonder about something.

What sort of musical themes would you have in mind for Elsewhere's originals characters and it's events?
RMK 12th Jan 2017, 4:21 PM edit delete reply
That's quite a question. there is music I associate with Elsewhere, that I either see in my mind's eye for an intro theme, or music that inspires certain moods and moments. I have some music here and there for characters.

I picture Elsewhere as an anime often. If it had an intro, its theme would sound like "Blue Water, Blue Sky" from Guilty Gear XX. Closing credits would be "Ookami" by Toru Furuya.

For the story, I listen to Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross soundtracks often to help me write. "Voyage- Home World" from Chrono Cross is one that gives me a really good sense of the big picture for Elsewhere in terms of relationships and adventure. "Secret Village of the Ninja" and "Gremio's Special Stew" from Suikoden 2, and "Forge the Spirit" from Street Fighter Zero- the Animation are the music I hear when I write scenes for Wolf Village. I associate Yamcha, Yunomi and Barracks troubled past with "Reminiscence" from Suikoden 2, and Yamcha's introspective moments with "Dreams of the Shore Near Another World" from Chrono Cross and "Shun" from Street Fighter Zero - The Animation.

Kyonshi and Heiwa might be the only characters I've thought of for concrete musical themes. Kyonshi is a combination of numerous characters from pop culture and video games. "Magus Theme" from Chrono Trigger and "Gothic Neclord" from Suikoden 2 capture him very well. "Dragon's Prayer" from Chrono Cross helps me write Heiwa, as his moments in the story have been very calm, yet very foreboding and gives a sense of ancient power.

At the moment, I have a theme for Yunomi I like called "Brave New World (Long Version)" from Namco x Capcom. But I'm not quite sure it fits her 100%. The lyrics come pretty close to how I envision her personality and response to the new world Yamcha exposes her to. Also, "Dearly Beloved" from Kingdom Hearts 2 (the version with the cello) and "Simple and Clean" by Utada Hikaru, though the melody is more apt than the lyrics in the latter song.

For Barracks, starting off, it would be "To the Wolves" by Anberlin (the lyrics are a bit on the nose). Still working on one post-reconciliation.

I listened to the BlazBlue Calamity Trigger Soundtrack a lot during the fight between Yamcha and Goku, especially "Blood Pain".

Sol 19th Jan 2017, 10:12 AM edit delete reply
Wow thanks for such an in depth answer, I'm going to re-read the Yamcha and Goku fight with blood pain playing and later on go over the rest of the comic with those other tracks.
RMK 19th Jan 2017, 4:13 PM edit delete reply
I hope they amplify your experience. Some of them really don't work very well at present in what you readers see, as the characters haven't had as much time to shine. So, Yunomi's theme, for example, would only really work best when we get to see her fight in the future. For now, they simply help me write the characters and keep their personalities in view.

That vampire is totally getting Majin'd. I Hope you give us a real before and after for his power. Also, hasn't Yamcha allready surpassed Vegeta? I would like to see how that plays out and I hope you take that one to it's full potential. I don't think Vegeta would be pleased with Yamcha of all people surpassing him.
RMK 19th Jan 2017, 4:09 PM edit delete reply
I will deal with Vegeta in due time. Don't forget, at the end of the Cell Games, he was so demoralized that he swore off fighting forever, yet 7 years later was back to training. That needs to be addressed.
abowden 14th Jan 2017, 6:09 AM edit delete reply
Not to mention how strong the other humans have gotten by now, with their numerous zenki boosts.
abowden 14th Jan 2017, 7:33 AM edit delete reply
I don't think things will work out like Babidi is hoping. I think this guy is likely stronger than buu, though things still won't work out too well if he is not.

RMK 19th Jan 2017, 4:17 PM edit delete reply
I have gone back and forth about whether to bring in Tenshinhan and Chaozu, given the former stated that he would probably never see the other Z Fighters again after they beat Cell. In other words, without Goku, he was going off to do his own thing and live out his life. The end of the Cell Games gave off that vibe for most of the cast-- that Goku was the reason any of them hung around each other, and without him and their rivalry, or a common enemy they could all contribute to fighting, there wasn't a point. Of course, a large enough ki and a global extinction event (like Super Buu) would draw his attention, but that begs the question about whether any of the enemies coming down the road in Elsewhere can be sensed by mortals that aren't already aware of their existence.

It also means I'd have to address whether Tenshinhan was aware of any of the events of Elsewhere in the Buu saga. I'm still rolling it around in my head, as I know many Yamcha fans and readers of this comic are also big Tenshinhan fans.

If I were him I would at least be curious as to why there are a bunch of very powerful people training harder than should be possible and investigate, because I would know they might not be training for shits and giggles. And I think Tien would relish the opportunity to make enormous gains in power through training.
Guest 1st Feb 2017, 6:55 PM edit delete reply
Thank you for the in-depth response! It is your (master) piece of work and I can definitely understand where your thoughts are coming from especially with Tien's reclusive nature in the first place. But of course like I'm a guy who has always thought Yamcha had/has potential to be a great character, Tien has been my fav and never got enough love. Keep doing your amazing work!
abowden 21st Jan 2017, 7:25 AM edit delete reply
If the upcoming battle happens on earth, realistically Gohan would sense it and fly in to help being that he feels his father passed him the mantle of earths protector, even if it takes him until a little while into the battle to get there. Him, Piccolo and 18 would make good measuring sticks for the other characters. I didn't mention Vegeta because he swore off fighting, only breaking his vow when Goku returned. Wondering how you'll address the whole 'Gohan is still immensely powerful and will show up to defend the earth' thing actually, it'll be interesting for sure.
RMK 21st Jan 2017, 3:45 PM edit delete reply
I do plan to address Gohan to a degree, particularly in light of Pigero, but I don't plan on having him fight. There's a few things to consider in that regard. For one, yes there's a cluster of strong people in one area, but they're all weaker than Gohan. He wouldn't be able to sense Heiwa, or Abu, Raka and Zam for that matter because divine and demon ki can't be sensed by mortals unless they reveal themselves to an individual. Next, consider that Chi Chi is a huge factor. By now, Goten was either just born or is an infant, so Gohan would be expected to help with him. Gohan is under his father's shadow, and Chi Chi is adamant he become a scholar and not run off with his "father's delinquent friends", and we all know Chi Chi is the one force in the universe that can beat Goku and Gohan.
abowden 22nd Jan 2017, 6:33 PM edit delete reply
heheheh good point. Still, he can sense energy of the humans, and might swoop in when they start to weaken/ the battle turns against them. Or he could just assume it was an unusually intense training session... Negating my point entirely.

RMK you don't need to post this comment if you don't want to. But if you saw the increased traffic, that would partly be my fault. I decided to link the site to a DBZ subreddit, on reddit. Mostly because I really think your work should be more wide know :D Thanks for the great story and keep it up!

Hi! Just discovered your comics, and spend the whole night reading it... I personnaly think it's the best fanwork i've ever read. (Well maybe not for the art quality, but it really improved, and the compositions of the pages are very clever)Best storytelling and use of official material i've read. Thanks for all your work!

I found this manga while looking for the second part of "reborn as Yamcha". I've read this entire thing today, and I haven't seen anything dbz related this darn good since the original dbz. I love your work and can't wait to see the rest (seriously Yamcha vs. goku made me feel like a child again.) this actually makes me want to draw the manga for an idea I've been toying with for years involving the earthlings battle (and subsequent deaths) vs. 17&18 in trunks timeline. Anyway keep up the good work! I've recommended this to all my dbz friends

Hello RMK , your ''Elsewhere'' manga is really awesome and feels ''nostalgic'' reading it, so thank you for continuing the chapters and writing it. I really hope you never abaddon it and have an ending planned. Are you going to post the next chapter before summer ? Can we expect it during May....maybe ? Thank you again , i hope you read this.
RMK 18th May 2017, 2:26 PM edit delete reply
I was trying to have it done by the beginning of May but personal things have been invading of late. Trying to get this done by next week.

RMK have you read Reborn as Yamcha yet ? They released a second volume a few days ago. I am really happy that characters like Yamcha , Tien , Chiaotzu will get some more ''screentime'' Also glad they brought Master Roshi and Tien in the Universal Tournament. Sure we all loved 'Z' but we musn't forget where it all started (Original Dragonball)!!! And who where the main fighters back then...Keep up the good work hope to see new chapter soon!
RMK 18th May 2017, 2:25 PM edit delete reply
Ah yes I've read Reborn. There's some serious problems with the idea and the assumptions it makes regarding Yamcha that this kid thinks he can solve, but I won't get into it here.
Whis 16th May 2017, 8:59 PM edit delete reply
Oh my, you seem to have a great talent for storytelling. I'm certainly invested in this material. I'm off to your Patreon now, I'm anxious to see that next page.
Mortune 26th May 2017, 5:47 PM edit delete reply
Hey, I have you thought about exactly where Yamcha lies in terms to how strong he is. Personally, I think he's closer to either Frieza's 3rd restriction form with Kaioken. On his own, he might be around Namek saga Vegeta(post Zarbon battle).
ImperialWrath 3rd Oct 2017, 2:32 PM edit delete reply
No way is Yamcha at post-Zarbon Vegeta level, not after having trained on North Kaio's planet for months, 3 years of intense training pre-Androids, 6 months training up to 400x gravity, 2 days (equal to 2 years) in the HTC, as well as having his potential unlocked by Anshin.

The training on Kaio's planet and the 3 years prior to the Androids alone is supposed to have made him on par with Freeza's base form on Namek. Which would put him FAR higher than Vegeta after he fought Zarbon. Add 6 months of gravity training, and 2 days (years) in the HTC, and I would think that should at LEAST put Yamcha on par with Goku's base when he fought Freeza on Namek (which is 3 million). And with his potential unlocked by Anshin, it should be even higher than that (at least equal by the same amount Krillin's did when Saichoro unlocked his on Namek).
