What a great chapter we get a peak at the darkness of Yamcha in here born of all trauma of being so helpless in his near death. Yamcha didn't do anything cool here he messed up and barely made it thanks to all his training to catch up to goku a purer goal then just seeking revenge.

Ultimately it sets in stone that yamcha will have a long way to go before he can get over his own demons.

That said Rouga-hameha was super cool and made sense as a trick to use against gero (maybe it was too cool for the tone? maybe not its hard to say) Either way I have to wonder were you inspired by Xenoverse's super electric stike for the move? it sort of seems similar to it.

...Oh. OH! I caught up! HAHAAAAA, YES :D

Welp, this has been a blast! Heck, and to think I randomly found this whole amazing thing because of someone pointing it out in a comment chain of a Dragon Ball Super Chapter XD

Anyways, as you already know, your manga's amazing. Keep up the good work at your own pace, work yourself out, rest when you can. Can't wait for the next page!

Dude i don't know you, but i just have to say you are awesome for this. I was quietly reading this enjoying myself up til the Goku fight and then it was like i have to get my thoughts out as read these chapters. You are holding it down man like seriously. This could be a story about Tien or whoever and can tell i would enjoy your telling of it and the way Yamcha has been treated through the years and even now more disrespect in Super you've done him justice canon or not. While being someone who draws myself i feel you can improve on your drawings of the characters or maybe it's just having to draw them multiple times for the pages you're trying to get chapters as quick as possible, no hate, i love what im seeing and can't imagine the work it takes to do all these pages....the way the characters look at times are slightly off around the eyes which is a iconic part of DB characters but at the same time still resembles the characters. Thats my only critique btw and i hope i don't offend. Maybe its just your own style your going for and thats cool but im just going by what i see. I don't know if you will even reply to this cuz its not linked to our emails so i won't know unless i come back here but keep up the work and best believe i will be letting people know about this since everybody acknowledges the reincarnated story. This is the Yamcha story we deserve....damn i wrote a lot lol

The Rouga-hameha is really cool, but the whole 'it can cut through anything' is very similar to the Destructo Disk
Ceara M. 25th Nov 2017, 4:16 AM edit delete reply
Nice Job as always, RMK =D
I always look more forward to new chapters of ELSEWHERE more than the new episodes of Super.

Yamcha's Rougahameha technique is amazing and I loved how it wrecked Gero.
Your storytelling is phenominal, and I cannot wait to see what plans Heiwa has for Frieza, King Cold and Cell.

Nice work as always.

Well except keep up the great work, hang in there, you people fully behind you on this, and that burn from Yamcha to Goku really hit it home. And Vegetas' an a**hole( no duh😆). You're amazing!!!!!

Gokitalo 25th Dec 2017, 11:21 PM edit delete reply
Meant to get to it earlier, but just read the latest pages. Great stuff. Powerful art and a perfect way to end Yamcha's "unfinished business" with Gero. Yamcha's character journey is shaping up quite nicely.

I have to say I don't really agree with the criticisms of Super I've seen some users make here. Yamcha's not-great fighting history is played for laughs, but the show also displays his guile. The baseball episode, for example, was all about how Yamcha was able to help his team win with his cunning and knowledge of the game. He got beat up pretty badly, sure, but he ultimately won by showing that being the best at something doesn't always come down to being the strongest. It's kind of a more comical version of what we've seen in Elsewhere, where Yamcha, despite his huge power-up from Anshin and training in the Other World, gets the upper hand in a lot of scenarios by being clever. Just two different ways of going about it, really.

Anyway, can't wait to see what's next! Looks Heiwa's ready to carry out the next phase in his and Babidi's plan...
ImperialWrath 28th Dec 2017, 12:52 PM edit delete reply
The problem with your defense of Super's portrayal of Yamcha, is the baseball episode you referenced was complete filler. Outside of that episode, Super (and Toriyama especially) have done absolutely NOTHING with his character, leaving him no room whatsoever for redemption in the eyes of the fans. This also simultaneously ensures that he's seen as nothing more than filler character in the eyes of fans who are not as familiar with DB/Z, and reinforces the negative opinions of the fans who are familiar with those series.

Yamcha wasn't featured in the Golden Freeza arc, where he could've shown up to fight off Freeza's men like Roshi, Tien, & Krillin did. He was completely left out of both Universal tournaments in favor of guys like Android #17 (who Super's writers have done their best to portray as Yamcha's replacement), Roshi, and even Freeza.

As for his not-great fighting history, well, Krillin doesn't have a stellar fighting history himself either. In fact, one could easily argue that his "wins" in the series were taking out low-level opposition like the Saibamen and Freeza's soldiers. But Super (and Toriyama) have still managed make Krillin a relevant character, simply by re-igniting his fighting spirit, for no other reason than his position as Goku's best friend and the wide belief that he's the strongest human fighter.

So yes, I would say the criticism of Super's treatment of Yamcha is VERY valid when viewed overall.
Gokitalo 28th Dec 2017, 9:49 PM edit delete reply
Hi Imperial Wrath, nice to see you on here. Anyway, I think the interpretation of the baseball episode as "filler" isn't really valid in the traditional Dragon Ball sense-- I mean, the series is essentially built from an outline written by Toriyama, as well as story meetings Super's creative team has with him-- the show isn't a manga adaptation, like Dragon Ball/Z. So if you really want to nitpick, pretty much everything NOT specified by Toriyama himself counts as filler now, and that's a lot more than it used to be. You also have to keep in mind that Elsewhere ALSO uses filler, both to highlight Yamcha's successes and failures. Incidentally, Pikkon, Olibu and Grand Kai/Dai Kaio also come from filler episodes.

Besides, I think anybody who thinks the point of the baseball episode is to show how big of a loser Yamcha supposedly is... well, kind of missing what the real point is. Like I said, despite getting beat up pretty badly in a comical way, Yamcha ultimately wins by being clever and actually knowing how to play baseball. He may not be the strongest fighter, but in the realm of baseball, Yamcha is the master. A master who takes a lot of lumps, but a master, nonetheless :-P

Honestly, I think it's okay to laugh at our favorite characters once in a while-- even healthy. I love Marvel Comics' Wolverine, for example, yet one of my favorite comics is the Punisher issue where he's run over by steamroller and his face gets shot off. Yamcha's treated like a king in Super, in comparison :-P If anything, I think the scenes where he's written off as "too weak" by the other characters (e.g. by Tenshinhan in RoF and then when recruitment for the Tournament of Power is going on) mirror Yamcha's own insecurities in Elsewhere-- "Every battle that ever really mattered that I've been in... I've lost," remember? ;)

As for Krillin, you're leaving out his Dragon Ball history, where he was pretty successful. He may have usually been behind Goku, but never THAT far behind, and held his own against the likes of Jackie Chun and Piccolo Jr.-- even if his fight against the latter was still fairly brief.

Anyway, I don't want to fill up the comments section with this debate too much, but we can continue discussing it more on Kanzenshuu, if you like.
ImperialWrath 20th Feb 2018, 3:35 PM edit delete reply
Hey Gokitalo! Good to see you here as well, though I've been in the comments section for months now :P. Anyway, in regards to your comment on filer, I get where you're coming from regarding it. And I personally didn't mine much of the filler used in Z. But I think you're missing the overall point I'm trying to make. And that's about fan perception of the characters, and at the end of the day, Super has done Yamcha absolutely no favors in his depiction as a warrior. And at the end of the day, fan perception has been shown to be what matters, and what ultimately drives the series.

Your point about the baseball episode would be valid, if this were a sports series about baseball (like One Outs, etc). But it isn't, this is a series about FIGHTING at the end of the day. And Yamcha's character wasn't simply about him being a baseball player, he was a martial artist way before that. And that's the problem I have with Super, is that they've essentially stripped him of his image and reputation as a martial artist, and reduced him to being "just a baseball player". And again, that's not what this series is about.

Sure, I don't mind laughing at some of our favorite characters either, but that doesn't mean I should be okay with them being written out of the series or being constantly portrayed as a joke. Bringing up Wolverine is a bad example because there are plenty of other Marvel story lines that continue to portray him as a badass. The Civil War comics being a primary example of this. Toriyama and Toei have done nothing even REMOTELY similar to that with Yamcha. And in regards to Yamcha's insecurities, that's the whole reason I brought up Krillin. Because he had his own insecurities of being afraid all of the time as well, but Super at least redeemed him by showing him casting aside those insecurities and even gave him a minor power up for it. Why couldn't they have done the same thing with Yamcha?

And sure, you can point to Krillin's minor successes in Dragon Ball, but what about Yamcha's? He had a competitive fight with Tenshinhan, survived an encounter against a much stronger Tambourine (in filler), who had killed Krillin earlier. Not to mention Yamcha was competitive against the Saibaman he fought as well.

But which do you think the fans remember Yamcha for, the competitive fights I just mentioned, or him being blown up by a Saibaman? The same way fans remembered Krillin for the longest time as being the guy Frieza blew up in order for Goku to become a SSJ.

Again, it's about perception, and Super has done Yamcha no favors in that regard. In fact, they've only made it much worse.

The story is fantastic. Better than "The Case of Being Reincarnated as Yamcha". I love your work. Please continue. Cant wait for the next one. :)))

This chapter was so freaking awesome! I've been trying to convince as many people as I can in my personal life, who are fans of the series and anime in general, to read this manga. As in my opinion, this manga is FAR better than anything Toriyama or the writers at Toei have done in Super. Thank you so much, RMK, for the hard work and effort you've put into this story.
MrPerson0 14th Jan 2018, 12:09 AM edit delete reply
Eh, the world-building from the original Dragon Ball is pretty good, but honestly, can't say that this is better than Super, especially when that has better retcons to the original story than this one does.
RMK 20th Jan 2018, 6:19 PM edit delete reply
People keep accusing me of retcons and it ends up that all I did was challenge their assumptions. I think I'm going to turn that into a marketing slogan.
MrPerson0 6th Feb 2018, 3:29 PM edit delete reply
*shrugs* Didn't the new Potara method in Super simply challenge peoples' assumption of how they worked?

It isn't farfetched to think that Old Kai was misinformed in thinking that the fusion was permanent with mortals, and that Vegito reduced his time a bit by going Super Saiyan and enabling the ki barrier to counteract Buu's magic from absorbing him, which ended up with him defusing the moment he dropped it.
ThatYamchaFan 13th Feb 2018, 2:25 PM edit delete reply
That would be a sight to behold
ImperialWrath 20th Feb 2018, 3:40 PM edit delete reply
I'm sorry, but I fervently disagree, this fan comic is far better than Super. For one, Super's retcons are poorly executed, and never explained. For one, how would Old Kai be "misinformed" in regards to how the Potara fusion works with mortals? The guy was only millions of years old, how would he not know this?

Then there's the whole Gohan being able to turn SSJ, rather than just accessing his mystic/ultimate form, when the whole point of the Old Kai performing his potential unleashed on Gohan was to render transformations unnecessary.

I could literally create a list of the things Super has outright done wrong, never mind the poorly written and unoriginal story line.

Hello , Can you give us a next chapter preview at least or anything extra. Also if you include gods (Kais) will you also have a Beerus and Whis cameo ? I know The god Beerus was sleeping during Z...but still.
Guest 12th Feb 2018, 11:37 AM edit delete reply
I have a question. Why does the early part of DBZ elsewhere seems more defined compared to the current looser style? What caused this art shift?
RMK 14th Feb 2018, 3:23 PM edit delete reply
I drew the first 10 chapters on sketch paper and scanned them with a really lousy scanner. Then there was a 7 year hiatus. Chapter 11 and on have all been purely digital drawn with a tablet, and it's a steep learning curve for me.

I know the next chapter is coming out soon, I just wanted to know how long do I have to wait until Heiwa fights this Yamcha.... I can't get over seeing this guy like this. It's odd to see him actually fighting.
